Sledding on Capitol Hill [#130]

Sledding down Capitol Hill is a long-awaited affair as well as an act of civil disobedience. For years kids and families have challenged the authorities on the right to use Capitol grounds to use their sleds and coasters.

This image is part of the series 'Postcards from Washington DC' that aims to represent the contrasting life in the capital. This project was supported by the DC Commission on the Arts and Humanities, which receives support from the National Endowment for the Arts.

PRINTS are 8x10", 11x14" or 16x20". Open edition printed with professional archival inks on acid-free, 100% cotton rag for long term durability (museum-quality giclée). The prints are packaged in a protective sleeve with a sturdy backing board in a rigid kraft mailer. We care about the environment, so we ship using recycled or reused materials whenever possible.

About the artist:

Carlos Carmonamedina studied Fine Arts in Mexico and Romania. His artwork, which combines his love for travel, bicycles, food, old cameras and comics has been featured in many exhibitions around the world.

After living in Europe for 7 years, he is now settled in Washington DC, where he works as an illustrator and graphic designer.
