Sunflowers at the Dupont Circle Station [#115]

Regular price $30.00 $0.00

Being absorbed by a gray routine in a large city like ours is inevitable, but every now and then DC manages to surprise us with little details that brighten our days. They may not be as delicate as the Kenilworth Gardens’ lotuses, or as photogenic as the Cherry Blossoms, but DC’s Sunflowers are just as pretty.

With their urban guerilla style, they grow wildly in the most unexpected places, just for a bit, just to remind us the end of Summer is here. They mark the time in a fast paced city, like yellow monuments that force us to stop. And appreciate.

So subtle and furtive are, that Sunflowers appear even the epicenter of this city: the big mouth of the Dupont Circle metro.

This image is part of the series 'Postcards from Washington DC' that aims to represent the contrasting life in the capital.
